 This year the

Since we were established in Australia in 1959, we have funded world-class cardiovascular research, supported health professionals in their practice, developed health promotion activities, informed and educated the public, and assisted people with cardiovascular disease. Today, the life expectancy of Australians is about ten years longer for men and nine years longer for women.

While the work over the past five decades has helped reduce the number of deaths, cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke and blood vessel disease) remains one of Australia’s most devastating health problems.

The Heart Foundation saves lives and improves health through funding world-class cardiovascular research, guidelines for health professionals, informing the public and assisting people with cardiovascular disease.

The Heart Foundation has established an effective team structure, bringing together employees and volunteers to help fulfill our mission. We currently employ over 250 paid staff across Australia with offices in all capital cities, as well as some regional cities.

All staff

Working at the Heart Foundation is a fulfilling experience - all employees contribute, either directly or indirectly, to the process of helping improve the heart health of Australians through research, education and support.

Regular staff surveys tell us that over 90 per cent of our people believe in our purpose, the work we do and are committed to the organisation. Heart Foundation staff are resoundingly positive about the talent we employ, and the team spirit that abounds.
